8 Qualities, ISSB tries to find in a Recommended Candidate

This is the most important post for all ISSB Aspirants. If you want to become a leader then you must try to inculcate these qualities in yourself. Every ISSB aspirant should try to build these Qualities in himself. If you have applied for the ISSB, then you must assess yourself against these qualities. These qualities are the benchmarks for all ISSB aspirants. If you meet these benchmarks, then surely you will be a RECOMMENDED Candidate.

What are the Qualities of ISSB-recommended candidates?

Below are 08 Qualities as published on ISSB’s official website. These are the required qualities for any leadership as well.

1. Expressiveness

ISSB board looks for candidates who can express themselves. You are an intelligent man but you can not express yourself in front of others, Then your intelligence has no Worth. ISSB evaluates Candidate Expressiveness on three occasions.

  • Group discussion
  • Lecture
  • Command Task
  • Deputy President Interview

In all these tasks you have to express yourself positively and confidently. Through group discussion, They will check your expression as a group member. In the Lecture topic, you have to express yourself as the Leader or Instructor. In the Interview, You express yourself as the most suitable candidate for the armed forces.

Ask yourself: Do you have the ability to express yourself?

What to do: Engage yourself in debates and group discussions with your family and friends. OR make a small group of ISSB Aspirants consisting of 5 to 7 members. You can discuss topics in a group call. Every Member has to note the weakness of others. Note these weaknesses on a paper and work on them.

2. Self Confidence

Self-confidence is the ability that one believes in him or herself to do a task. ISSB Looks for Self-confident Candidates. Self-confident candidates can handle pressure situations and they have a strong belief in themselves that they will do it finally. Self-confident candidates are mature people, who tell the ISSB examiner that they have greater exposure. They have seen and experienced the world. They are not Frogs of a Well.

What to do?

Take responsibility in daily life. Do not depend on others to decide something. You should have your own choice. You must inculcate independence in your personality.

3. Good Appearance

Appearance is how you look in front of others. When we meet someone, we can guess a lot of information about that person. The dressing is the basic factor of your appearance. Take Nice and matching dressing with you while you proceed to ISSB. You should consider the following things for an impressive appearance.

  • Dress should be properly ironed
  • Use light colors instead of Dark and odd one
  • Wear a simple dress, there is no need for Expensive dresses
  • If you are wearing a Shalwar Qamees, Then Wear a proper waistcoat.
  • Comb your hair
  • Wash your face with soap or face wash before an interview, for a fresh look
  • Wear polished shoes

4. Academic Ability

If you have passed your initial test, It means you have good academic ability. Good academic results mean you can absorb advanced military training and you can be deployed at Modern Equipment.

  • Point: Practice English, well and Impress others through English Speaking Fluency
  • You should have a command of general mathematics and Physics, which apply to daily life.

5. Leadership

If you have the above abilities, you are expressive, have self-confidence, Impress people with your Dressing, and have good academics. It means you can become a leader. A leader is a person who gives direction and leads others.

What to do to become a Leader?

  • Seek out the position of responsibility
  • Become a captain of a Sports Team
  • Lead Discussions
  • Become a Class Representative (CR in University), Proctor, or Monitor in your class

6. Physical Fitness

If you have all the abilities that we discussed earlier and don’t have adequate physical Fitness. You can become a Leader in civil organizations but not in the armed forces. Armed Forces Need Physically Fit Individuals.

What to Do ? to remain Physically Fit?

7. Motivated

Everybody wants to become an Officer in the Armed Forces. On the other hand, Everyone is not motivated. You should be sincere in joining the Armed Forces and You must convince the Deputy President that You are willing to lead the Forces.

8. Awareness

Although this is the least required Quality, if you have it, then It is a Bonus point for you. You must be aware of what is happening around the world and your country.

What to DO?

  • Prepare Current affairs and Defense matters
  • Read some good news Papers
  • Do not Miss reading the editorial Portion of every newspaper
  • Read The non-biased Column writers

Try to develop these qualities and be an ISSB recommended Candidate.

Self-Awareness

Self-awareness involves understanding your strengths, interests, abilities, weaknesses, and emotions. That’s why you are asked about your merits and demerits in your interviews. By understanding your strengths, weaknesses, and other qualities, one can make sensible decisions. It could take more time to understand one’s abilities and values. Write your strengths and weaknesses on a page and then think about them.

Initiative

You might hear that the first step toward success is difficult. The first step is your initiative. The initiative is a valuable quality for fresh graduates and young people to enter professional life. You can take part in many opportunities and challenges and fulfill your tasks to make a positive impression on others. Participate in different projects, develop the learning process, and develop skills and ways to solve problems.

Adaptability

Adaptability is a crucial quality for fresh graduates to become successful in their careers. You should have the ability to mingle with the changes and new technologies. You should have the ability to adjust to your destination and can handle any change and difficulty to become an effective leader.

Teamwork and Collaboration

Leadership is the ability to work out in the form of a team and co-operating with others which is why leaders can achieve their destination. You should start working on team-building group projects to enhance your teamwork skills. If you can motivate others and have a sense of commitment, you can do effective teamwork. Co-operation and group work enhance the teamwork skills of fresh graduates.

Problem-Solving:

In every critical condition and difficult situation, leaders are only called to solve the problems. Fresh graduates should have these skills to solve problems and make smooth decisions to become effective leaders. You should understand the nature of complex problems and think about the innovation of solutions. You should have the ability to overcome challenges by thinking critically about these complex situations.

Emotional Intelligence

You as a Fresh graduate should have the ability of emotional intelligence that is how you can understand your emotions and understand the emotions of others. Fresh Graduates can make strong relationships by being emotionally intelligent and having a positive impact on others.

Continuous Learning

Leadership is the ability in which you as fresh graduates learn and develop your personal growth. You must attend workshops and seminars to enhance your professional growth. seeking knowledge and emotional understanding aims to be a successful leader and serve the nation.

    my family members such as my father brothers and my father dont want me to be an army officer but i am willing to be .They says that the army traning is very strict as everyone knows about it but i want to joined the army and discipline in my life . i have applied for issb 150 long course and now my family says you dont give the test . sp plz guide me what i do and how i convince my family ………

      Bro go out And try to run for 10km then after 1 week run for 15 then in 3rd week run for 20km If you can do this its mean you have stamina to bear the hard training of PMA. and tell your father that let me try once i can bear the training
