Topic 1: 1st Day arrival: What will you see on the first day?

You have to report to the ISSB (full form: Inter services selection Board) center before the designated time, so you can rest properly. For normal days it is 2 PM and in covid-19 days it is 8 to 11 AM. Due to the Covid-19 Situation in the country, Please bring the Masks and gloves necessary for your and other protection. Remember, Armed forces take the Covid-19 very seriously, so you have to act accordingly.

Entrance

At the entrance, the security staff will check you, for security and unauthorized things, like mobiles, laptops, and others. Do not bring these things with you. You can contact your near and dear ones through Call shop available there.

Scrutiny for documents

After entry to the ISSB premises, ISSB staff will check Your original documents. Please ensure all your Original documents before proceeding to ISSB.

They will Place a Big stamp on your documents’ backside.
They will allot Chest Numbers and batch Numbers.
Photographer will take a photo of you.
A Room Number will be allotted to each candidate, where you will stay for the rest of the days.
After that, You will pick your luggage and sent it to the rooms.
Canteens are available; you can drink tea or have refreshments.  

You can purchase anything, Like Boots, shirts, trousers related to ISSB. You can purchase gifts for your family, if you want to remember these golden ISSB days.

A beautiful masjid is there, you can pray for your success.
In the evening, you all will be called to a big hall, and seated one by one.
A psychologist will come, and he will introduce himself or herself.

All initial documentation will be done including the Bio-data form. (Read our post for guidance about filling the BIODATA FORM).

You will write the address on the envelope, and in that envelope, they will send you a recommendation or non-recommendation letter in a week.

After filling the necessary Forms, you will write an analytical essay.

Analytical Essay writing in ISSB

After filling of necessary forms, You have to write a 300-400 word essay on a given topic. The time given for the essay topic is 30 minutes. The topic is relevant to current scenario or social awareness. Please read about the essay writing

After writing the essay, then you can go back to your rooms.

Dhobi is available for their services and if you need some pressing of your suites, hand over to them.

Go early to bed, so you can wake up early in the morning and prepare well for the 2nd day, which might change your future, and that will be the psychologist day.
