What is Knock knees?
Knock knees is a condition which is also known as Genu Vulgam, in which both knees angle inwards and touch each other or there might be a large gap between the knees angle outwards when standing upright, both feet together as shown in the Figure below.
The individuals with knock knees condition, have the thighbone (femur) and the shinbone (tibia) not aligned properly, which causes the knee joint to bend inward. Knock knees can be caused by a variety of factors, including genetics, bone deformities, injuries, or underlying medical conditions.
Mild cases of knock knees may not cause any significant problems, but severe cases can lead to pain, instability, and difficulty walking or performing daily activities. Treatment options may include physical therapy, orthotic devices, bracing, or in severe cases, surgery.
Every aspirant who wants to join the armed forces will be tested for knock knees. So what to do? Check yourself for knee-knocking on your own.
How to check Knee knocking on your own?

1. Stand on a floor, straight in attention, form a V shape of your feet. Your heels must touch each other, Toes apart in V Shape. If there is a small gap, then it is medically fit.
2. If your knees’ bones are touching each other, then it knee-knocking. On the other hand, If only your skin/upper flesh is touching each other, then you should not worry, beautiful you do not have knock knees. A knock-knee individual will have problems standing in the attention position when touching the heels.

In the above picture, on the left side, there is a knee-knocking condition. In the center, The condition is normal. On the right side, there is a large gap between the knees, This condition is also medically unfit.

How to treat the Knock Knees?
If you are having this condition, you might want to treat it. The treatment for knock knees depends on the underlying cause and severity of the condition. If the condition is a mild ones and detected at the early stage of life, no treatment may be required, and the condition may correct itself as the child grows older. However, if the knock knees are severe or causing pain or other complications, treatment may be necessary.
Following are the possible common treatment options to treat knock knees:
- Physical therapy:
This may include exercises to strengthen the muscles around the knee joint, improve range of motion, and correct gait abnormalities. - Orthotic devices:
These may include shoe inserts or braces that help to support the foot and ankle and improve alignment of the leg. - Weight loss:
In cases where obesity is contributing to the problem, weight loss may be recommended. - Surgery:
In severe cases, surgery may be necessary to realign the bones and improve knee alignment.
It is important to consult a healthcare professional if you or your child has knock knees. They can evaluate the condition and determine the most appropriate treatment plan.

Hi, I am not sure, it depends on the angles of your legs. If you have no problem in running, There are higher chances that you will be declared FIT.

Dear Subah, It depends on condition, If your knees are touching due to Flesh, Then you might be declared FiT. However, If these are the bones touching (Anglular problem), then there are chances of Being UnFit

Dear Muhammad Abdullah, If you are Not facing any issue while Running and You do smoothly running, Then there is no problem. You should not worry about it, as it is completely Fit.

Hi, You didn’t mention your choice of course. For which armed force and what job do you want to apply? If you are applying for any post, You have given your Examination and waiting for the result, you can apply on the basis of hope certificate. Once the results are announced, then you have to produce the orginal documents.
