Can a female join Pakistan army as a soldier?

Many Females contact me and ask about the soldier posts in Pakistan army for Females.. The answer to above question is: No, The female can not join Pakistan army as a soldier. However, if you are passionate about Pakistan armed forces, Then you can join sister forces i.e. Pakistan air force and Pakistan Navy as a Soldier in different categories.

If you are seeking jobs on the Basis of Matriculation / Secondary school certificate SSC (Non commissioned posts), Then you can apply for the following posts in Pakistan Air force and Navy.

• As Female medical assistant in Pakistan air force
• As logistics assistant in Pakistan air force
• As Female medical Technician (FMT) in Pakistan Navy

Apart from the above, Females who have studied Pre-medical in FSc can Join army as AFNS (Armed forces Nursing service). The AFNS is a Semi commissioned type job, Who wear the rank of officers however, They are not entitled to Full benefits as other officers or Doctor. They are not counted as officers but they are given Honorary ranks up to Majors.

Why Pakistan army doesn’t hire Female as a Soldier?

There are certain limitations for it. The limitations are managerial, Cultural and as well as Social. Pakistan army might need to afford higher financial costs than Normal male recruitment to facilitate Females. For example, if we talk about financial or Managerial issue, Female needs separate accommodation, Separate mess and other facilities. That’s why Army does not recruit girls as a Soldier.
