Each year Pakistan Navy announces online registration twice for the PN cadet permanent commission and you can Join the Pakistan Navy as a PN cadet if you meet the eligibility requirements. This is identical commissioning as other permanent commissions in the Pakistan Army as PMA long course and in PAF as GDP, CAE, and, AD.
This is the main scheme for the enrollment of officers in the Pakistan Navy. Induction of Candidates is done twice a year as PN Cadets. This type of commission is offered in the following branches after the successful completion of 2 years of initial training.

Registration dates
The registration dates are announced (each year) in the months of May and June for B-Term and November/ December for A-term.
Eligibility Criteria
Following are the eligibility criteria to apply to the Pakistan Navy as a PN cadet.
- Gender: Only Male candidates can apply. (Unfortunately, Female candidates are not eligible)
- Age: Maximum 21 years (joining date). Service personnel can apply for up to 23 years.
- Qualification: Matric and FSc with 60% Marks (Physics and Mathematics are compulsory in FSc)
- FSc part 1 candidates can also apply through a Hope certificate having at least 65% in 1st year.
- The Candidates must have passed both Matric and F.Sc or O/A Level with at least 60% marks.
- Moreover, candidates must have Qualified F.Sc/ A-Level with any of the following subjects: Physics, Maths and ChemistryPhysics, Maths and Computer SciencePhysics, Maths and StatisticsCandidates of O/A Level are requested to submit equivalence certificate.
- Minimum physical height: 5 feet 4 inches
- Rank on completion of training: Midshipman ( Equivalent to 2nd Lieutenant in the army and Pilot officer in the Pakistan Air Force)

What is PN Cadet in the Pak Navy OR What does PN Cadet mean?
PN Cadet refers to the Pakistan Navy Cadet. Basically, “Cadet” refers to the position that an applicant gains upon joining the Pakistan Navy. The young trainee undergoes multiple intellectual and physical testing procedures prior to their final selection as a Pakistan Navy Cadet. The Pakistan Navy Cadets are selected through the Permanent Commission of the Pakistan Navy.
Candidates selected as PN Cadets in the Pakistan Navy are retained in the Pakistan Naval Academy Islamabad, which remains home for the PN Cadets for a period of one and a half (1.5) years where their academic, mental, physical, intellectual, and professional brought up and training takes place under the supervision of highly qualified and competent senior Naval Officers.
After the successful completion of the training program of 1.5 years at Pakistan Naval Academy, the Pakistan Navy Cadets pass out and are ranked as Midshipmen, which is the junior-most ranked officer in Pakistan Navy following the joining of ships.
What is the work of the PN Cadet in the Pak Navy?
A PN Cadet is a young trainee who is hired in the Pakistan Navy for a future Naval Officer rank. Upon the completion of the training program of one and half years at the Pakistan Naval Academy, the PN Cadets are ranked as Midshipmen rank which is the junior-most officer rank in the Pakistan Navy, after which the candidate joins ship to get hands-on experience of working in different areas.
During this tenure, a Pakistan Navy Cadet is expected to learn under the supervision of honest, motivated, and experienced senior Naval Officers who train the Pakistan Navy Cadets by providing them with academic education, professional experience, and mental, physical, and intellectual training. The PN Cadets are trained to learn and get ready for future work prospects in a Naval Office.
No candidate would be allowed to sit in the examination who registered with fake CNIC No or other information. Apply only if you fulfill the given criteria, in case of any problem you may contact the nearest PNR&SC.
