Mechanical aptitude test in ISSB: Tips and Guidelines

A mechanical aptitude test in ISSB often abbreviated as MAT is a test in which a candidate is assessed for understanding the simple machine and mechanic laws. The laws are based on common sense.

Earlier in ISSB, there were screening tests on the first day, which included Intelligence Tests and Mechanical aptitude tests. However, the procedure has been changed, and only the Mechanical aptitude test (MAT) is conducted. There is NO screening In the ISSB, Nowadays. The Mechanical aptitude test consists of 50 questions. Sometimes these questions are mixed with Non-verbal intelligence questions. The time allotted for the test is 20 minutes. If you want to pass the MAT, you have to understand the principles of following simple machines.

  • Lever
  • Pulley
  • Gears
  • Clockwise directions Anticlockwise rotation

If you are good at physics principles, then you can clear this test very easily. You can pass this test even without preparation. But you have to be good at Physics and common sense.

How to solve the Mechanical aptitude test?
