How to Join Army as a Captain through Direct Short Service Commission?

Pakistan Army announces online registration for the direct short service commission in the army for different Arts and science graduates, once a year. This is a golden opportunity for you if you are twice not recommended by the ISSB selection board. You can appear for the 3rd time for the ISSB examination.

Gender and age requirements

Only male candidates below 28 years of age are eligible for the direct short-service commission.

Departments

The army requires officers for different departments to fulfill its organizational goals.

Army Education Corps

Candidates who have 16 years of education in the following disciplines, can apply in this department.

  1. Computer science
  2. Physics
  3. Biology
  4. Mathematics
  5. Islamic studies
  6. English
  7. Political science
  8. History
  9. Arabic
  10. Management sciences

Law Department

LLB-qualified candidate with a minimum experience of 02 years

Psychologist

Candidates having a BS / MSc in Psychology can apply for the psychologist post.

Qualification required for each post

16 years of education in the concerned subject with at least 2.50 CGPA or 50% marks in the annual examination system.

Height Requirements

The height required for the direct service commission applicant is 5 feet and 4 inches that is 162.5 Centimetres.

Period for the online registration

The online registration for the short service commission candidates in the army is lasted for two weeks.

Surety Bond for direct service commission

If selected for the short service in the Pakistan army, the candidates are to sign a surety bond to serve the Army for at least 7 years. The Surety bond will be commenced after the necessary completion of training on Passing out from PMA.

Training period at PMA

The total training period for the short service commission candidates will be 06 months in the Pakistan Military Academy.

  2. Dear sir if i apply in dssc whose test is in january 2023 and if i went through whole process than i will be eligible for paf ssc job which is coming in feb?

    1. Dear Fahad, you will be eligible for the SSC in PAF. However if you appear in ISSB in DSSC army then you have to wait 04 months to appear in the next ISSB tests, which will be held for PAF SSC.
