How to Join Pak Navy as a Sailor?

Who is A sailor in the Navy?

A sailor is A person whose job is to work as a member of the crew of a naval ship or boat, especially one who is below the rank of officer. There are Two Categories of Sailors in the Pakistan Navy
1. Technical Sailors
2. Non-Technical Sailors

1. Technical Sailors:

Those who want to apply to technical branches can join various technical branches of the Pakistan Navy like
Operation branch, Marine Engineering branch, Logistic branch, etc

2. Non-Technical Sailors

Those candidates who apply to Marines, Naval Police, Steward, etc. These are considered as Non-Technical Branches of the Pakistan Navy.

What is the Eligibility Criteria?

Following are the eligibility criteria to Join the Pakistan Navy as a Sailor.

Technical Branch:

The required Educational Qualification for the technical branch is Matric (Science) with a minimum of 65% marks. The Age required is between 16 – 20 Years and the physical Minimum Height required is 5′ 4”.

Marine Branch:

The required Educational Qualification for the Marine branch is also Matric (Science/Arts) but with a Minimum of 60% marks. The age limit is slightly different than the technical branch and it should be in between 17 – 21 Years. The Minimum Height requirement is 5′ 6” in the marine branch.

Medical FMT (Female Medical Technician)

If you are a Female and want to Join the Pakistan Navy in a Non-commissioning cadre, then FMT is the available option for you. The eligibility requirements for the FMT in the Pakistan Navy are given below.

• Educational Qualification: Matric (Science) with Minimum 65% marks
• Age: 17 – 20 Years
• Minimum Height: 4′ 8”- (142 cm)

Step-by-Step Process Join the Pakistan Navy as a Sailor

Following is the step-by-step process of Joining the Pakistan Navy as a Sailor.

Step 1: Announcement of the Jobs/advertisement through the newspaper

The course will be advertised through leading newspapers and the official website of the Pakistan Navy. If You are active on social media, The advertisement is also shared on social media by aspirants.

Step 2: Online registration through the Pakistan Navy Website

After the announcement, of course, You have to register yourself through the Pakistan Navy Website. Once you register yourself through the online portal, Your test date will be scheduled within a week. Sometimes it might take more time and your status might show pending

Step 3: Appearing in the Test on Test Date

You will report to your respective selection center on Your scheduled date. Remember to accompany Your registration slip and other necessary documents as mentioned on the slip.

What is the Test Pattern for Navy Sailors?

Following is the Test Pattern.

Test Pattern for Matric Science Students

The test will be comprised of the following Question pattern. All will be MCQS.

• 75 intelligence questions in 30 minutes (Include both verbal and Non-verbal)
• 75 academic Mcqs in 30 minutes

Pattern for Matric Arts

• 1. 75 intelligence MCQ questions 30 minutes
• 2. 75 academic questions in 30 minutes

Academic includes English, General Science, General Maths, and General Knowledge. Those who cleared the Initial test shortlisted Boys will get a call for Physical Test and Medical.

Physical Test Includes:

The physical test for the Navy sailors includes the following tasks.

• 1.6 Km Running in 8 minutes
• 15 Push-ups in 2 minutes
• 15 Sit-ups in 2 minutes
• Chin-ups in 2 minutes

Medical Tests

Those who Cleared Medical tests will get a call for an interview. The Interview will be of a basic and general type and Your confidence matters a lot in this interview.

Those candidates who clear the whole process are called for psychological tests. Following are the details about psychological tests for Navy sailors.

Personality Tests

The psychology or personality test will include the following.

• Bio-Data Form that includes basic details about you and your family
• Sentence Completion Test (50 Sentence) There will be two sets of SCT 25 and 25 both are in Urdu.
• Word Association Test (50 words). WAT words are displayed on a Projector for 10 Seconds. You have to write the sentence.
• Picture story (2 pictures). Then there will be a picture displayed on the Projector and you have to write each story in 3 minutes.
• Pointer Stories (2 Stories), An incomplete sentence is given and you have to write a story. Each story should be attempted in 3 minutes.
• You have to write 5 merits and 5 demerits of yourself. You have to write 5 merits and 5 demerits of your favorite Personality
• Finally, there will be incident writing like Unforgettable Incident of Your Life, etc.

Naval Board Interview

A short Interview, a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes. After the interview, Naval Headquarters makes a merit list and the selected candidates are then called for training.
